Before the Rain

Mr. J was a sleepy boy when we met for our photo session this weekend. Poor little guy just wanted to take his nap and here I was sticking a big camera in his face. And, to make matters worse, he went for a tumble during our shoot. I felt so terrible because mom said it was the first time he's fallen! Sorry!

Still, even though there were some tears, I managed to get a big smile, and that made everything totally worth it. At least, I hope mom sees it that way.

Vanessa, thanks so much for meeting me at the park. I know it probably seemed like J was miserable, but I am really happy with the shots we got. I hope he doesn't have a big bruise on his face. Enjoy your sneak peak!!

Whoa Baby!

I was so excited to photograph this next mommy-to-be. Her son and my daughter are in the same kindergarten class! Evan is the sweetest little boy with the bluest eyes. His baby sister is so lucky to have such a silly big brother.

And how about this hot mama? Cecilia is a gorgeous lady who will be giving birth to an equally gorgeous baby sometime in April. We lucked out with a warm, sunny afternoon and I'm so glad she decided to glam it up for her session. I cannot tell you how much I love this next shot!!

Cecilia was such a good sport when it came to my crazy ideas. I pulled out a roll of wrapping paper about halfway through our session and I'm sure she was thinking "what the heck is that for?" Still, she went with it and I love the way my makeshift background came out! I love Evan in these shots! I can totally picture this hanging on your wall.

Cecilia, thank you so much for inviting me into your home. Your family is beautiful and I'm glad your sister was able to be here for your session. I can't wait to show you the rest of your pictures. They are some of my most favorite images to date!

An Apology and Baby E

Before we get to this next beautiful baby, I just want to apologize to anyone who may be waiting for their gallery. I got hit with a really bad cold, maybe even the flu, and I've fallen behind a bit. Just know that I am working my butt off to get your potraits done. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Now, on to Miss E. I did mom's maternity pics a while back and the little princess decided she couldn't wait anymore to come out and meet her new family. At 3 weeks old, she is still so tiny. She made the cutest little noises too.

Both sets of grandparents were in town for a visit so we made sure to snap some pictures of them with baby E.

I love when parents and grandparents want to be included in a newborn session. It's so wonderful to see them interact with this new life. This next picture is one of my favorites so far. I love the way dad is cradling her head and she even gave us a little smile.

Big brother J seemed a little nervous around his baby sister but I think he looks pretty comfortable here.

This last one cracks me up. She's stretching those little arms!

Sweet Baby S

This little munchkin was born just a few weeks ago. I always forget how tiny they are when they first born. My girls seem like monsters now!

At first Miss S was wide awake, checking me out. She was so content to just lay there I felt so bad moving her around.

Eventually she nodded off.

I could not leave without taking a picture in this fabulous kitchen though. How cool are those cabinets?

April 18th & 19th - I Heart Mom
Get the kiddies together for a photo shoot to surprise mom or better yet, schedule one that includes mom. When was the last time you were actually in a picture with your little ones? Each mini session will last 20-30 minutes and includes a 10x10 mounted storyboard. ~ $100

May 2nd & 3rd - Dress it Up!
These sessions are just for teens. Prom season is in full swing and I've got no doubt you've already picked out your dress. Join me for a fun fashion photo shoot! Mini sessions will take place in a location of my choice and you'll receive 5 images on a CD. Price includes up to 3 people. ~ $125

June 13th and 14th - Fun in the Sun

The Beautiful Bride

I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to shoot my first wedding this weekend. I can't tell you how nervous I was! I think I was pacing back and forth all day. My husband said he's never seen me like that before.

Still, I was excited to get my feet wet with Veronica and Anthony. They were married a few weeks ago so I was on board to photograph their wedding reception. Veronica is as sweet as can be and she looked amazing. The party was in Manhattan on a Saturday evening and when I arrived at V's hotel, the sun was just starting to set on the city. Their was this awesome golden glow coming in through the hotel window and I knew I had to get a shot of the bride on her big day.

I am so pleased with the way that shot turned out. She looks like an angel. Here's another one.

V's hubby is a great guy too. He was so nice the whole time I was tearing up their hotel room looking for a good spot to shoot some pictures. You know what really impressed me? He remembered my name. I know that's a little thing, but it makes a difference when you're meeting people for the first time and they care enough to learn your name and use it. At the end of the reception he gave me a hug too!

This last image is one of my favorites so far. It was actually an accident, but I love it. I was getting ready to put my camera away and snapped a picture without really paying attention to what was in my viewfinder. I love that you can see the skyscrapers through the window in the background.

Veronica, I had such a wonderful time meeting you, your husband, and your family. Everyone was so nice to me and it's obvious that you all love each other deeply. You and Anthony are lucky to have found each other and I wish you all the best in your future together. I can't wait to go through the rest of the pictures. I'll be posting more soon. Turning One is So Much Fun!!

I first met Miss L when she was 6 months old. Well, she just celebrated her first birthday and mom and dad wanted to mark that special milestone with some updated pictures. It was so nice to see how much she's grown. In our first session she was super serious, but this time around I got lots of smiles. She loved the balloons, but was not too fond of the cupcake. What can I say, she knows what she wants!!

Tracie, it was so nice to see you guys again. As always, your little girl is beautiful. I hope the rest of your Valentine's Day was nice! Thanks for coming out in the cold.

Baby Blues

When I arrived at little Miss N's house, she was sleeping. When she woke up, I was greeted with the most beautiful blue eyes. She was so sweet, too. You could tell that she loved her mommy so much. Every time you spoke to her Cheryl her face lit up. It was so nice to watch the two of you.

Ok now onto my second maternity session from this weekend. This time I met Yvonne and her hubby for some pictures in their home. I knew I was going to love these pictures as soon as I walked in the door. Every room is painted a bright, cheery color. It made me think of spring. I loved having their walls as a backdrop.

Yvonne, I hope you had a good time at your shower the next day. I'm sure your empty nursery is now full of baby gear. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures. I love, love, love this one of you on the bed. So pretty!

Baby Boom

This weekend was crazy for my family. Not only did I have 3 sessions but the Steelers won the Superbowl! My husband is a HUGE fan and he was so nervous/excited yesterday. All I have to say is thank goodness they won because he would be one cranky guy right now. He swears the reason they won is because of Jaime's magic Steeler pajamas. Actually, they were Julianna's when she was little, but now Jaime fits into them and she's worn them for every game.

Anyway, I had two maternity sessions this weekend. First up was a beautiful lady who's due in a few short weeks. I remember being so uncomfortable in the last month of my pregnancy but Valerie you seemed so mellow and in control. I had a great time meeting you and your family. I hope everything goes smoothly for you from here on out.

The minute I walked in to this little guy's house I knew we were going to have a good session. T just turned 9 months old and he is a happy baby. It didn't take much to get him to smile.

He was crawling all over the place, checking out me and my camera. I had a great time playing with him and making him laugh. At one point he got very quiet. It was so weird. He was completely still, like he was in a trance. Well wouldn't you know, he was peeing on my blanket!!! Ha! That's okay little man, it's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last.

Amy, I really had a great time meeting you and your family. You are so lucky to have such a good natured baby. These are just a few of my favorite pictures so far, but I know there are going to be plenty more!

Lovely Little Ladies

This weekend has been a busy one for me. I traveled down the shore to meet three adorable little girls and my munchkins got to spend some much needed time with their grandparents. They even had a sleepover which gave me and my hubby some alone time.

Today I had a mini session, drove back down to pick up my girls, and then hurried home to watch the Steelers in the AFC Championship game. So now I'm trying to catch up on my sneak peeks for the weekend.

These two sisters have almost the same age gap as my girls. Miss G is 4 and the Miss C will be turning 1 this week. They were a riot. Mom and dad had a gorgeous house for me to play around in so we took some pictures in the Conservatory. How fun!

First Baby of the New Year

Brown Eyed Girl

As much as I love photographing babies, when I get the opportunity to shoot someone a little bit older I get so excited. Miss H is 6 years old and she has gorgeous eyes. She seemed a little shy, but I could definitely see a silly side. By the end of our session, she was showing me some top model moves.

Her Nana was kind enough to invite me over for the shoot today. It was so cold and I felt so bad asking miss H to come outside, but she was sweet enough to oblige me for a few shots. I really hate the winter weather because I love taking pictures outside.

Yolanda, your granddaughter is the sweetest thing and she is stunning. I am so in love with her close up. Those eyes are amazing. Here are a few sneak peeks. I can't wait to show you the rest. Especially those hat pictures! ;)

I Love My Family

What a week it's been. My sister had her baby on Tuesday. Miss Hannah Banana was born at 11:12 on Dec. 16th. She was 9 lb.s, 4 oz., and she's got a full head of dark hair. The day she was born it was snowing and today she came home from the hospital and there was a blizzard. Mom and baby are home safe and everyone is doing well.

Meanwhile, during the snowstorm, I went out to photograph my nephew. He just turned 3 months and he's really developing a personality. He's all smiles and both my girls just love him soo much. All they ever want to do is hold him.

I snapped some pictures of Julianna and Jaime reading a book together too. All in all, it was a good week for family pictures. Oh, and I finally got my christmas cards out. Crisis averted!

You Better Not Pout

Well, the holidays are almost here and my busy season is winding down. The deadline for holiday mini sessions is December 15th.

I was so excited to meet this little guy. I went to school with both mom and dad and have seen some pictures of little G on Facebook. He's got a full, gorgeous head of hair. I have never seen so much hair of a baby. Oh man, but what expression he has. He was feeling a bit fussy at first, but his cry almost melted my heart. He little lips would turn out and then the tears would come. Mom said he was tired. I hope he slept for you after I left Krista!

Round Two For the D Family

The first time I met these girls, they didn't feel up to having their picture taken together so I suggested trying again another time. When I got to their house, they needed a little time to warm up but I think our session ended on a high note. Look at these great shots of both girls. I love the black and white one. So cute!

What a cute family! Miss T and little J were so adorable. They were so curious about my girls and J was so excited to find out that my youngest daughter's name is Jaime. He has a best buddy in school with the same name.

Their little brother, Mr. A, wanted no part of me though. He warmed up a bit by the end and I was able to get a great shot of his smile, thank goodness. And that's all us parents are really looking for, right? That one great shot. Hopefully that's what I'm able to do.

Tracey, I know you probably walked away from our session thinking there's no way she got any cute ones of A, but look at that face. Your other two are hilarious and please tell your little girl I will watch "High School Musical," soon, I promise!

And Then There Was Puke

I haven't posted in a while. Not because of a lack of sessions, but because my family was under seige. We all got a nasty stomach flu. First it was Julianna. Poor baby was up all night puking. We even missed Disney on Ice. She was so upset.

Then, the next night, my husband was complaining of a stomach ache. I went out to deliver some pictures and he called to tell me that my little one threw up in he crib. Then, he put her in with Julianna so he could go throw up. I almost didn't want to go home. I loaded up on hand sanitizer and did my best to clean up all the sheets and pillows.

Well, I caught it anyway. You should have seen me, my husband, and Jaime in bed all day yesterday. She rebounded quickly, but my hubby and I were down the for the count. Thank goodness Jaime was so good. She let us lay in bed all day. Even my in-laws caught it.

So I had to reschedule a few sessions but I finally got back to work today. And I'm so glad I had Mr. M to start off my day. What a sweetie pie he was. He had just woken up from a nap so he was ready to play.

Mom was so nice too and the family dog was a riot. She wanted to be involved in everything. I had a blast today Faye. Thanks so much for inviting me into your beautiful home. Enjoy!

I was so thrilled to meet this little guy. He is probably one of the smiliest little babies I've met and he's only 3 months old. Oh my gosh ~ the faces he made. And when he fell asleep, it was so much fun to take his picture. I just love sleeping babies! They are so peaceful.

My New Friend

I drove up to this little boys house and saw him waiting for me in the window. I wish that's how every session started. He was all smiles from the beginning.

He showed me his cars and trains and his christmas tree. Kelly, the house looked great and you've made it very warm and cozy.

I stayed just long enough to tire Mr. R out and when I left he went off to dreamland. Here are just a couple pictures for now Kelly. Enjoy!!

I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving weekend. I certainly did, although now I feel more behind than ever. Yesterday was my sister's baby shower. She is due December 17th. I did some maternity pictures for her that I will post here in a bit.

This week I'm determined to catch up. I've got lots of orders to place and I still have a few holiday sessions left. I also added a few more cards to my collection. You can find them all here.

I'm going to visit these girls again soon for a picture of them together. Miss J wouldn't stray too far from her mama so it was hard to get shots of her. I got some cute ones of her older sis though. Miss G was full of energy, even in the freezing cold. Mom, I've got a couple more cutes ones that I'll post for you, but I think we should definitely try for a sister shot. Busy Little Bee

I don't know what happened but I am slammed. I thought I was doing so well, posting pictures and finishing up galleries, but I slipped behind. It may have been the holiday weekend. Or the fact that Julianna has had a ton of days off of school this month. So sorry to anyone who is waiting to see pictures. I'm working my tush off.

On Friday, I got to meet the cutest little girl. I know I probably say that about all of the kids I photograph, but each one just gets cuter than the last. Miss A wasn't too sure about me in the beginning so I left my camera by the door and we just played for a few minutes. She showe me her favorite toys and we looked at a sticker book.

Once she warmed up I started snapping away. These are actually the first few pictures I took. We went outside for a little bit too. Mom, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. It was so much fun meeting you and your family!!

Baby Girl

I met this little girl when she was inside her mommy's tummy. She was supposed to make her debut at the beginning of the month but decided to come out a little earlier than expected.

I am always amazed at how little babies are when they are first born. Well, miss L was probably one of the tiniest I've held in a long time. She was precious and I had a great time photographing her. Mom mentioned angel wings and I almost screamed with delight. Actually I think I did scream. I picked up angel wings a while back ~ around Halloween time ~ hoping I would get use them, but I totally forgot about them. I am so glad I keep them stashed in my car!

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

On Saturday I visited a family who just moved here from Brooklyn. They have a beautiful house and three of the sweetest girls I've met. Poor dad was the lone male in a house full of females though. Even Maggie, the dog, is a girly girl. She loved my super soft blanket.

We did some holiday pictures as well as a few first birthday shots of little miss Charlotte. She was adorable. I brought along a few candy canes that she really liked. She was so sweet with the dog, too. It seemed like they were the best of friends.

I love this family and I am so glad they invited me back for some holiday pictures. Their children are adorable, but mom and dad are two of the nicest people I've met on my journey so far.

Miss Mia had other ideas about me taking pictures today though. She wanted no part of it. Even the lure of a lollipop wasn't cutting it. Still, we managed to get some great shots. Hey Kristina, all three of them are smiling!

Kids, I mean. Jenn and I were comparing stories about our little ones and how, in an instant, it seems like they are possessed. We are in a phase now where my almost 2 year-old will refuse to sit in her car seat. She will arch her back and scream bloody murder. And it's usually when I'm in a rush to get somewhere. I feel so bad having to force her in the car, but I can't just sit and wait it out. Ahh, the joys of motherhood!

Anyway, Little miss S is 2 years old, and although I'm sure she gives her mommy and daddy their fair share of headaches, she looks like a little angel. She was a pleasure to photograph and we even went outside for some snuggle pictures. The weather is getting chilly so I think the luxury of outdoor sessions might be nearing an end.

I'm So Lucky

I really am. Ever since I decided to take the leap and go into business for myself, I have met the nicest people. This time was no exception. Mom and her little ones were so sweet. Actually, I shouldn't even say little one ~ miss S is almost a teenager. Isn't she gorgeous!

Little mister M just celebrated a first birthday. He had the best smile! Big brother D was a riot too. He told me I needed to get gloves for when I take pictures outside. It was sooooo cold! I'm definitely going to follow his advice next time.

Double the Fun

This was my first time photographing twins and I had so much fun. Not only are these two girls cute as can be, but one of them is in my daughter's Kindergarten class.

I've always has a soft spot for twins. I have a twin sister myself and I love her dearly but it wasn't always easy growing up. Being compared to each other and being labeled is rough when you're young.

Anyway, towards the end of the session the girls got silly. I will post some of those pictures a little later but for now, here are some sneak peeks for mom and dad. Linda, thanks for coming out Saturday. I had a lot of fun and I'll see you at school!

A Day to Catch Up

The weather has been so yucky here lately that a lot of my sessions have either been canceled or rescheduled so I had a rare Saturday at home with the family today. Well wouldn't you know, on a day when it was supposed to rain the hardest, the sun actually came out. So I called two of my families and said, "Hey, what are you doing today?" Both were cool enough to oblige. Of course, the clouds came back, but we were lucky because it was so warm. Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to drop.

On to the cuteness ...

I swear little kids must think I am insane when I show up to a session. I try my hardest to be fun and silly but mister A was just not having it. His little brother thought I was funny though. And, even though I bet mom and dad walked away thinking we didn't get any smiley pics, I think they're going to be pleasantly surprised. Just Moved In

Walking into this family's house made me want one of my own so badly. I really miss being able to cook my own dinner or sit in the living room or play in the yard. Right now my family and I are feeling kind of cramped here at the in-laws, but we're doing our best to keep things stress-free.

Anyway, the G family just moved into their gorgeous home two weeks ago and they're still putting the finishing touches on everything. We decided to stay at the house to take pictures because it was super cold and I think it worked out really nice. I got to see Nicholas' room and Natalie was happy just crawling around.

After I was done, Nicholas asked if we could still go to the park and take more pictures. How sweet! Mom, tell your little guy we'll have to meet up one day when it gets warmer out. Thanks so much for inviting me into your home. I had a blast today!

All the Way From the Sunshine State

Little Olivia celebrated her first birthday a couple weeks back and had a big party to mark this very special milestone. One of her guests came all the way from Florida so mom asked me to snap some pictures before they went back home.

The weather was so yucky here in NJ this weekend but we managed to sneak in some play time. Right after we finished our session, it started to pour. I think the girls still had fun exploring the park we were at.

These little ones belong to one of my favorite people in the whole wide world. Their mom and I were the best of friends in high school and now her son and my daughter are in the same Kindergarten class.

The weather here in NJ was so nice this weekend, but wouldn't you know that the one day I had two sessions scheduled it was freeeeezing. Sunday was brisk, but little miss Piper and her brother Quinten came out to play anyway. I had so much fun chasing Piper around. All she wanted to do was run. And Quin is so handsome ~ he's going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up.

A Halloween Birthday Party

My neice is lucky enough to have a birthday right around Halloween so every year all the cousins get dressed up and eat birthday cake. The two little ones were princesses, of course, but the older girls were witches and wizards and oh, one zombie cheerleader.

I had so much fun meeting these little ones. Mom is probably one of the nicest people I've met and Dad was so down to earth. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about photographing a new baby, a 15 month-old and a 2 and a half year old. I was convinced that I wasn't going to get a single shot.

Well I have the exact opposite problem. I went through a bunch of the pictures to post a sneak peak and I love sooo many of them! I had such a blast photographing Charlotte this weekend. It was sooo cold, but they were all so nice to hang outside for a little while. She really made me work for those smiles, too. I was running back and forth pretending to tickle her and she loved it. It just reaffirmed the fact that I really need to start exercising!

Behind Every Picture is a Story

I haven't posted pictures of my girls in a while so I thought I'd share a story with you. I was in the back yard one day and Julianna asked me if she could climb the tree near the water. Of course, I said yes and then told her to hang out a sec while I ran to get my camera. My camera was in my car not too far away.

When I got back she had tears streaming down her face. I felt so bad. She said she thought I was going to leave her in the tree. Poor baby! But, what does mommy do? Instead of consoling her, I started taking pictures. She looked so innocent and sad up in that tree. I couldn't resist.

Eventually she stopped crying and I was able to get a smile out of her. I am so in love with these pictures though. It just goes to show that you don't always have to have a happy, smiling child in pictures.

p.s. Blogger is being a butthead so I can't upload any more pictures. I swear they are all this cute. Hopefully I can later ...

Just to let you know that there have been some changes to my pricing. Special events will no longer include a coffee table book. To be honest, I would have to increase my session fee in order to cover the cost of the book and I really didn't want to do that so I am now including 4x6 proofs from the event.

Also, I updated my sidebar to include information on holiday mini sessions. And, last but not least, regular mini sessions have increased to $50.

I had such a wonderful time with this little girl. She has the most gorgeous blue eyes you've ever seen. Both mom and dad were super nice and were willing to let me dress up up their little girl in all kinds of things.

Miss L took a while to warm up but towards the end of the session she was cracking up. She was laughing at the cats, who wanted nothing to do with me at the beginning, but ended up being curious. They kept sneaking into the shots!

Now booking holiday mini sessions. There are two package options. Pricing is as follows ...

Jingle Bells ~ $125
Includes your session fee as well as a set of 25 holiday cards with envelopes. Design options will be posted to the blog in the coming weeks.

Let it Snow ~ $150
Includes your session fee as well as a high resolution CD with 5 images of your choice. This package is designed for guests who might not like the card templates I have and want to print cards using an online service like Snapfish or Shutterfly.

Mini sessions are not as long as a traditional portrait session. They last about 30 minutes and you will be able to view a gallery of up to 10 images.

Additional sets of cards may be purchased for $30.

Call or e-mail me to book your session now before time runs out. I am already booked for weekends in October. I do have availability during the week but only in the morning. And the first weekend in November is booked as well.

Another Hot Mama!

I was so excited to photograph these two. I went to high school with both of them and even worked for a while with the mommy-to-be. It's weird because it's so much more nerve wracking photographing friends and family. I'm not sure why.

Anyway, Mrs. L and her hubby are expecting their first baby (it's a girl!) in November ~ right around my birthday. Ahh another scorpio. Sorry mom and dad, but your little angel is probably gonna be a handful!

I had the pleasure of photographing a really great family today. I love when parents want to be included in pictures. It's not often that you get pictures of mom and dad together. One or the other is usually behind the camera!

Anyway, it was sooooo hot today. Like, mid-July, sticky, humid, gross, hot. But, we made it through and got some really cute shots. Little E is super cute and he was so good. I can't wait to get through all the pictures. Here's a sneak peak for you Enid!

The End of Summer

I'm kind of glad that the summer is winding down. I used to worship the sun but ever since I had kids, it's just not the same. It's way too hot to be carrying around a toddler and a diaper bag and I never liked wearing a bathing suit and I sweat too much and ... well, let's just say Fall is now my favorite season.

Anyway, we went to a BBQ at my sister-in-laws and the kids were in the pool all day long. It was a gorgeous day! What a way to end the summer.

Julianna has turned into quite the little swimmer. Hubby has taught her well. She can swim across the pool without her vest. She even jumps into the deep end!

This last one is my best shot for the day. Just because I love little baby bottoms. How cute!

I had the pleasure of photographing a little boy today who was simply adorable. He is the son of a friend from high school who I haven't spoken to in a while, but we reconnected through Facebook of all things. We went to the train station in town and then just walked around Main Street.

This is the very first picture I took. Mom was trying to fix little N's hair. How cute!

Mom also said that her little guy was serious and I think this one captures that. Although he was all smiles when she busted out a lollipop. Wait until you see those pictures!
